CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

Position Description

The Bridge is looking for a proficient and reliable Church Administrator with great communication and administrative skills. The candidate will need to be, detailed-oriented, pursues excellence, has a heart to serve in the local church context,, and enjoys working with people. The Church Administrator will handle general church administrative responsibilities, as well as working with the executive pastoral team.

Key Responsibilities

Church Support

  • Keeps personnel records

  • Manage the main church Calendar of Events.

  • Check the church’s mailbox and distribute any mail accordingly.

  • Maintain all insurance policies associated with the church.

  • Administers the records of the church and official documents.

  • Answers questions from members and other staff regarding administrative processes.

  • Work with Guest Services and MarComm to receive and track attendance for in-person and online worship experiences.

  • Attend and take minutes during leadership meetings.

  • Set-Up new email accounts for any new staff or key volunteers.

  • Manage Planning Center People database and enter new membership information.

  • Help track and manage any projects using a project management software such as Asana.

  • Assist with new employee and contractor onboarding by creating contracts/agreements and getting them set up in systems.

  • Assist with any necessary e-mail marketing.

Pastoral Support

  • Be the first point of contact for Lead and Dream Team Pastors.

  • Check Lead Pastors email inbox and respond to any email and voice messages.

  • Provide weekly attendance and giving reports to Lead Pastor.

  • Manage Lead Pastor and Dream Team schedule and calendar.

  • Handle any necessary correspondence coming from the Lead Pastor office.

  • Provide any Sunday morning administrative and logistical support for Lead Pastor leading up to Sunday and the day of.

  • Assist with posting for Lead Pastor social media accounts.

  • Set-Up and Handle any speaking engagements and travel that may arise as necessary, which may include.

  • Willing to be available during daytime/business hours for necessary meetings or correspondence.

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years experience in an administrative support capacity.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A deep love for God, committed to serving Christ’s Church, and heart for The Bridge.

  • Servant and compassionate heart.

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Displays strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Pays close attention to detail and has excellent record keeping abilities.

  • Possesses strong technological abilities and has knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

  • Ability to use and manage Planning Center Applications (Services, People, Number, Giving, Groups, Registration, etc.)

  • Able to utilize social media applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

  • Willingness to learn new applications and software that may be critical to the possession and help The Bridge to be more effective.
