Dear Bridge Family,
In 2007, a few people decided to invest in the vision to start a new church called The Bridge. Since then, we’ve seen God do great things in and through us in Washington D.C. area, our nation, and other parts of the world. We’ve seen individuals accept Christ, build meaningful relationships and grow in small groups, find their purpose, and make a difference through serving God and others.
At The Bridge, we are establishing the Legacy Offering. The Legacy Offering will be an ongoing opportunity to invest financially into leaving a spiritual legacy. It is easy to become so consumed with spending money on temporal things that we neglect to invest it in things that matters for eternity.
The Legacy Offering is a way to make a difference in the lives of others and accelerate the vision of our church. The more we give, the more we can accomplish and the faster we can achieve our vision.
We’re encouraging everyone to participate by giving above and beyond their normal giving. Our goal is not to raise a certain amount, but for everyone to participate in some way.
The Legacy Offering will allow us to make an impact five areas, which we call our Five Legacy Lanes:
Our Home
It’s important that we invest in our local church, The Bridge. Our goal is to one day obtain a permanent facility. Giving towards the Legacy Offering will help us to continue saving towards a future home.
Our Community
We must make a difference in our Jerusalem. Throughout the years, we have impacted our local community through serving the homeless, giving school supplies and food to families in need, and various service projects. The Legacy Offering will go towards outreach to serve our neighbors and those in need. We want to be a church of the community, not just in the community.
Our Nation
Our second area of focus is our Judea. We will make a national impact through church planting and urban apologetics. We will partner with Association of Related Church (ARC) to support new church plants and other organizations to provide theological resources and training to equip individuals to address the unique challenges of urban context across the country.
Our World
Our third area of focus is “the uttermost parts of the world” (Acts 1:8). We want to make an impact by addressing to needs: clean water and human trafficking. Through our giving, we can provide water for those who thirsty and freedom for those in bondage.
Our Leaders
It is vital that we leave a legacy for the next generation of leaders coming after us. We will develop a leadership program at The Bridge to raise up and equip the next generation of leaders.
I ask that you pray and give sacrificially to our Legacy Offering.
Regardless of the amount you give, you play a crucial part in building the future of our church. Everyone matters. Everything counts. This is between you and the Lord, and I trust Him for however He speaks to you. Just simply ask God, “What should I give?”
